This Isn’t a Tour. This Is the Trip You’ll Talk About for the Rest of Your Life.
Kham Tibet. Western Sichuan. 15 days. 8 women. One of the last truly wild places on Earth.
You pull out your camera. The battery’s dead. You charge it, you clean the lens, and you think: I used to love this. Where did that go?
It went where everything goes when life takes over. Into the hall closet. Under a stack of boardgames you only take out at Christmas time, and the pile of things you were going to get back to.
This trip is getting back into it.
Not on a bus with 40 strangers rushing to the next photo op. No on the Lhasa-to-Everest route that every other tour company runs. This is Western Sichuan. Kham Tibet. Remote monasteries where 10,000 monks and nus live at 4,000 metres above sea level. Glacial lakes the colour of the sky. Nomadic grasslands where Tibetan cowboys ride horses across land that has barely changed in 500 years.
You’ll shoot it all. With women who understand why stopping the car is necessary to make a photograph.
You Don’t Need a New Camera. You Need the Right Trip.
Your camera is fine. If it has manual mode, it’s ready. We’ve taught women shooting with cameras from 205, and what they walked away with wasn’t better gear. It was the confidence to use what they had.
You don’t need to upgrade before you can start. You don’t need to have shot recently. You don’t need to prove anything to anyone on this trip.
What you need is a location that stops you in your tracks. Women who move at your pace. And enough time built into the itinerary to actually stop, frame it, shoot it, and feel it.
That’s what this trip is.
What Makes This Trip Different From Every Other Tibet Tour
About 70-80% of Tibet tours go to Lhasa and Everest Base Camp. It’s a beautiful trip. It’s also the trip everybody takes.
This isn’t that trip.
Western Sichuan, known as Kham to Tibetans, is a different world. The Kham Tibetan people are known across the plateau for their fierce independence, their distinctive architecture, and their deep-rooted culture that doesn’t rely on tourism. They’re not performing for your lens. They’re just living.
You’ll photograph that. Real people. Real places. Moments that aren’t on the first page of Google.
And because we build the itinerary with extra days, the unexpected becomes possible. On Ariel’s last trip through this region, the guide mentioned a local festival happening the next day, one nobody planned for. They were the only foreigners there. It was, in Ariel’s words, “dripping in authenticity.”
That’s what extra days buy you. Not filler. Room for the unscripted.
What You’ll Be Photographing
Southern Yukon’s Iconic Views
The Minya Konka mountain range, highest in Sichuan at 7,556m, viewed from high alpine passes over 4,900 m
Yarchen Gar monastery, one of the largest in Kham, where 10,000 monks and nuns live at 4,000m
The Dege Parkhang Pringing Press, where 70% of all Tibetan Buddhist scriptures are still block-printed on hand-carved wooden blocks dating to 1729

The Ultimate Itinerary: Landscape Photography from Whitehorse to the Arctic Circle
This private, 10-day Arctic Exploration tour is custom-built to maximize photography opportunities and prioritize wildlife sightings. We adapt the daily schedule to the light, the weather, and your creative pace.
Locations You Will Photograph:
Southern Lakes: We chase the fall colours (late August/Early September) at Carcross, the unique Carcross Desert, and the Emerald Lake for stop-you-in-your-tracks compositions.

Frequently Asked Questions (Mastery, Rustiness, and Confidence)
Is my camera too old for this trip?
No. If it shoots in Manual Mode, it’s the perfect camera. Our focus is on the mindfull observation behind the lens, not the gear. We teach you to master the camera you already own.
I feel pretty rusty. Will I slow everyone down?
Absolutely not. We specialize in taking women who haven't touched their camera in 10 years and rebuilding their confidence from the foundation up. Groups are intentionally kept small (max 6-8) to ensure personalized instruction. We move at the pace of the light and the wildlife, not a rigid schedule.
What is the weather like in the Yukon in early September?
The weather is generally cool and crisp—perfect for long days of photography. It is the absolute peak of the autumn colours, offering the most dramatic and vibrant landscapes for your images. Pack for all conditions, from cool mornings to potentially freezing nights (for aurora viewing).
Can I justify spending this money on myself?
This is an essential question. We reframe this as a non-negotiable investment in your mental health, self-care, and creative identity. You are moving from "I used to" to "I am"—that transformation is priceless.
