When & Where

Webinar Sessions to Keep You Learning About Photography

Why Online?

Life doesn't pause for perfect conditions - and neither should your photography practice. Online webinars let you build camera confidence and grow your skills without the logistics of travel, time off work, or coordinating schedules. You're learning from wherever you are, connecting with women across Ontario (and beyond) who understand exactly what it's like to restart a creative practice after years away. This is how you stay sharp between field time, maintain creative momentum during busy seasons, and prove to yourself that the photographer you used to be never actually left. She's been waiting for accessible, judgment-free opportunities to grow - and that starts right here.

What to Expect:

  • Live, interactive training where you can ask questions, get real-time feedback, and learn alongside other women at similar skill levels - no judgment, just progress.

  • Practical, field-ready skills you’ll use immediately, not overwhelmingly technical theory you’ll forget by next week.

  • Ongoing creative accountability through practice cues, downloadable guides, and a supportive community that keeps you shooting between sessions.

How the Webinars Work

Each 45-minute live session focuses on one foundational skill. You’ll join via Zoom, and participate in real-time Q&A

(optional, but highly recommended).

Who The Webinars Are For:

  • Women who used to photograph regularly but life took over - kids, careers, caregiving - and now you’re ready to reconnect with your camera but feel intimidated by how rusty you’ve become.

  • Photographers who’ve outgrown auto mode but don’t know where to focus your practice next, and you’re tired of guessing your way through settings without understanding what actually matters.

  • Anyone who craves creative time that’s non-negotiable, not squeezed between everyone else’s schedules - and you need structure and accountability to make photography practice happen consistently.

  • Women considering a Spark workshop or retreat but want to build confidence with your camera first, test our teaching style, and feel prepared before committing to multi-day immersive experiences.

You're not too rusty. Your camera isn't too complicated. And you won't slow anyone down—because we've taught over a hundred women exactly like you.

What you’ll learn:

  • Gear clarity: Which lenses to use when, why RAW vs. JPEG matters, and how to make confident technical decisions without second-guessing yourself or buying unnecessary equipment.

  • Composition fundamentals: How to train your eyes to see compelling shots before you press the shutter, using elements of design and perspective to create images that feel meaningful.

  • Exposure control: Understanding the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO so you’re making creative choices instead of just reacting to your camera’s suggestions.

  • Light understanding: How to shoot confidently in challenging conditions - forest shade, overcast days, sunrise/sunset - instead of avoiding your camera when conditions aren’t “perfect.”

  • Creative vision development: Building your unique photographic style through intentional practice, not accidentally stumbling into it after years of trial and error.

  • Practice frameworks: Specific, actionable exercises you can do on local trails or in your backyard to build muscle memory and creative confidence between formal learning sessions.

Why Women Trust Spark Adventure Photography Workshops

Because we’re teachers and photographers, and we know how to guide women like you.

"You were a triple threat: A GREAT TEACHER (as a student of teaching and a teacher of teachers for 30 years, I know good teaching when I see it), A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER, and, A GREAT HUMAN BEING." — Lori

Our founder, Cobi Sharpe, is a natural educator with years of experience teaching women to confidently operate their cameras in manual mode. We've guided over a hundred rusty photographers from "I'm afraid to touch these settings" to "I know exactly what I'm doing."

What Makes Our Workshops Different:

Teaching expertise that meets you where you are: Clear explanations, patient guidance, zero judgment
Hands-on learning, not just lectures: Workbook exercises + real-world practice in beautiful natural settings
Individual support throughout the day: We check in often, answer every question, and ensure you're learning at your own pace
No ego, just encouragement: You'll feel comfortable asking anything—we genuinely want you to succeed

"I enjoyed Saturday very much and now I'm excited to play with various settings under the manual option on my camera. It's given me greater confidence to explore all the myriad of functions a DSLR offers on my own. Tonight, I plan to go out for a walk in the neighborhood after dinner with my camera, and I am excited to put into practice what we learned." — Lori

"I recommend Cobi Sharpe as she is a natural teacher—very informative and very engaged trying to give the best help throughout the day!" — Kathy M.

This is what happens when you learn from someone who knows how to teach, not just someone who knows photography.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • Use what you have. Whether it's a 10-year-old DSLR, a mirrorless camera you inherited, or the kit lens that came with your camera, it's enough to grow your skills. We'll help you understand what you're working with so you can make the most of your current gear before considering upgrades.

  • No. Many participants haven't photographed regularly in 5, 8, even 15 years. You're not behind—you're exactly where you need to be. This training assumes you're rusty and meets you there with patience, clarity, and zero judgment.

  • The replay is available for 72 hours and covers all the core teaching content. However, the live Q&A is where you'll get personalized feedback on your specific camera confusion or creative blocks. If possible, prioritize attending live—but life happens, and the replay ensures you don't miss the essential skills.

  • YouTube is great for isolated tips, but it's overwhelming, contradictory, and easy to fall down rabbit holes that don't match your skill level. These webinars give you a structured, progressive learning path designed specifically for women restarting their photography practice. You're not just consuming content—you're part of a guided experience with accountability, community, and direct access to ask questions.

  • If you're thinking about it, you're serious enough. This isn't for professionals perfecting their craft—it's for women who want to reconnect with their cameras and make creative time non-negotiable. The real question isn't whether you're serious enough; it's whether you're ready to stop waiting for permission to prioritize yourself.

Alternatively, we offer one spring and fall full-day learn manual workshop if you want an immersive, transformative day that takes all of the guesswork out of settings. And an afternoon of one-on-one time.

We also offer one-on-one mentorships with Cobi.

  • If you attend the live session (or watch the full replay) and don't feel clearer about your path forward as a photographer, email us within 24 hours for a full refund—no questions asked. We're confident you'll leave with tangible skills and renewed creative energy, but we don't want you paying for something that doesn't deliver.

  • You can take as many as you'd like. Each webinar is a standalone skill-builder, but they're designed to layer progressively. Many women start with one, realize how much momentum they gain, and sign up for the full series. We also offer a discounted bundle if you want to commit to all three upfront.

There will be other webinars that are separate from this teaching series, that could have a cost per session. Maybe it’s learning about editing techniques from a particular photographer, for example.
