🐺✨ Howl + Hush: A Wilderness Photography Retreat!
For women who crave solitude, depth, and the wild.
You’ve been here before.
You’ve stood on ridge lines, waiting for the sun to rise.
You’ve waited for just the right moment to get the shot.
You know what it feels like to be alone with your camera and feel alive.
But lately? It’s felt different.
You’ve taken the iPhone classes. You’ve posted the pics.
But your creativity? It feels… off.
Not gone. Just quiet.
This weekend is about finding it again.
No apps. No algorithms.
Just time, a group of women who get it, and a return to what moved you about photography in the first place.
This isn’t a photography workshop.
This is a creative wilderness immersion.
Designed for intermediate to advanced photographers. This weekend women’s retreat brings you into the wilds of the Haliburton Highlands, where wolves howl, starlight reflects on a glass-like water, and you remember how good it feels to create for yourself.
You won’t be “taught manual.”
You’ll be guided, supported, and inspired to make work that feels meaningful again.
Who This Is For
You’re using manual or semi-auto modes.
You’ve taken classes—or even been on photo tours.
But lately, your images feel flat. Staged. Repetitive.
You’re craving creative depth, not tech overload.
You want a place to feel moved again—not critiqued.
And you’re ready for photography to feel real again.

Where You’ll Stay
Hosted with Cabinscape, you’ll be based in custom-designed, eco-conscious off-grid tiny cabins, nestled deep in the Haliburton Forest.
These aren’t “glamping” pods.
They’re intimate, lakefront cabins - offering solitude, simplicity, and your own private doorstep to nature.
You can save on costs by bunking up in a shared tiny cabin with a friend (or another participant), or opt for a private cabin if you’d prefer your own cozy space.
The Howl: Dinner with Wolves
A Spark-exclusive evening with Haliburton Forest’s Wolf Centre.
Saturday night, you’ll enjoy a 3-course dinner catered by Boshkung Smokehouse inside the sanctuary, with two hours of private access to observe the resident wolf pack up close.
It’s an experience that few get.
And photographers never forget.
You’ll Leave With:
✔️ An exciting portfolio of images that feel like you again
✔️ New perspectives on natural light, visual storytelling & slow photography
✔️ Time away from the noise—in community with women who get it
✔️ That grounded, off-grid feeling you’ve been craving
What the Weekend Looks Like
A 2.5-day immersive photography experience to awaken your creativity, deepen your connection to the nature, and create images that feel alive—from sunrise mist to midnight stars.
How It Works:
Step 1: Arrive and Unplug
Settle into your cabin, breathe the fresh air, and let the stress fall away. No phones. No pressure. Just you and your community who get it.
Step 2: Explore, Create, Connect
Learn how to tell visual stories through atmosphere, light, and texture—on hikes, misty lakeshores, and starry night walks to tell visual stories that come from the heart, not just a place of comparison.
Step 3: Reflect and Share
Gather around the campfire, share stories and images, and be reminded of how powerful it is to create in community.
Experience Level: Intermediate to advanced. You’re using semi-auto modes (aperture priority, shutter priority) or full manual mode.
