Cancellation and Refund Policy

Non-Refundable Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $500 CAD is required at the time of booking to secure your spot in any multi-day Spark Adventure Photography Workshop or Retreat, unless otherwise specified for a particular trip.

Why the Deposit is Non-Refundable: Our intimate workshops (strictly limited to 8-10 participants) require significant financial commitment far in advance. The $500 deposit is essential for covering crucial, non-recoverable upfront costs associated with the event's logistics, including:

  • Securing accommodation and specialized equipment rentals.

  • Acquiring necessary permits, licenses, and park access fees.

  • Booking professional co-instructors and support staff. This deposit confirms your commitment and allows us to move forward with the extensive, necessary logistics to guarantee the quality of the immersion.

Final Payment: The remaining balance of the workshop fee is due 3 weeks (21 days) prior to the start date of the workshop, unless otherwise noted for specific international or long-duration trips. You will receive a reminder invoice 30 days before the due date.

Spark Adventure Photography Workshops is not responsible for cancellations or withdrawals due to medical emergencies.

Cancellation and Refund Schedule

All cancellations must be submitted in writing. All refunds are calculated after deducting the non-refundable $500 CAD deposit and a $50 CAD administrative fee.

The refund amount is determined by the date we receive your written cancellation:

Timeframe Before Workshop Start

Refund Percentage (of Amount Paid, Minus Deposit & Admin Fee)

  • 180 Days or More - 100% Refund (minus $500 deposit and $50 admin fee)

  • 179 to 90 Days - 50% Refund (minus $500 deposit and $50 admin fee)

  • 89 Days or Less - No Refund

Spot Transfer Option: If you need to cancel within the 89-day window, your registration is fully transferable. You may find another person to take your place and arrange reimbursement directly with them. Spark Adventure Photography Workshops is not responsible for finding a replacement.

There are no exceptions to our Cancellation Policy.

Right to Refuse

We have the right to refuse participation to any student if we believe that they aren’t a fit for the adventure. This decision can be made based on factors, including but not limited to, behaviour, compatibility with the others, physical fitness, and following our safety guidelines.

Cancellation of Workshop

Spark Adventure Photography Workshops Cancellation:
In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled by Spark Adventure Photography Workshops (due to medical emergencies, family emergencies, unsafe travel conditions, and weather emergencies), all workshop fees will be refunded in full. In the event of a workshop cancellation, Spark Adventure Photography Workshops is not responsible for reimbursement of any travel, lodging, equipment rental, or any related expense. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any non-refundable registration fees, travel, lodging, equipment rental, or any other related expenses.

Transferring Workshops

For logistical reasons, you cannot transfer from one workshop to another.

Travel and Weather

Spark Adventure Photography Workshops are not responsible for airline and travel cancellations due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We are also not financially responsible for any missed time of the workshop due to delays.

Weather and other instances can’t be predicted and therefore Spark Adventure Photography Workshops are not responsible for the loss of workshop time or instruction. If there are disruptions, we will do our best to find other learning options.

Photography

By signing up, you agree to allow the workshop leader to photograph and film the event. Photos and videos taken could be used in promotional materials.
